How to thicken Castille soap based products with guar guam.

Guar gum, also called guaran, is a galactomannan polysaccharide extracted from guar beans that has thickening and stabilizing properties useful in food, feed, and industrial applications.[1] The guar seeds are mechanically dehusked, hydrated, milled and screened according to application.It is typically produced as a free-flowing, off-white powder.

Ingredients:

• Castile soap base
• Guar gum
• Distilled water
• Essential oils or fragrance (optional)

Instructions:

1. Measure Ingredients:
2. Determine the amount of Castile soap base you want to thicken. Ensure that you have a container large enough to accommodate the entire mixture.
   Prepare Guar Gum Solution:
3. In a separate container, measure a small amount of guar gum. Start with a small quantity, as guar gum is a potent thickening agent, and you can always add more if needed.
   Add distilled water to the guar gum gradually, stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Aim for a smooth, lump-free consistency.
   Combine Guar Gum Solution with Castile Soap:
4. Slowly add the guar gum solution to the Castile soap base while stirring continuously. Add a small amount at a time to ensure even distribution.
   Mix Thoroughly:
5. Stir the mixture thoroughly to integrate the guar gum solution into the Castile soap. Make sure there are no clumps, and the mixture is smooth.
   Check Consistency:
6. Assess the consistency of your product. If it’s still not thick enough, you can prepare more guar gum solution and add it gradually until you achieve the desired thickness.
   Optional: Add Fragrance:
7. If desired, add essential oils or fragrance to enhance the scent of your product. Stir well to ensure even distribution.
   Let it Set:
8. Allow the mixture to sit for a while to ensure that the guar gum fully hydrates and thickens the product. This may take some time, so be patient.
   Adjust Thickness if Needed:

If the product is still not thick enough, you can repeat the process by preparing more guar gum solution and gradually adding it until you reach the desired thickness.
