- Prepare the Candle Wick: Cut a piece of candle wick to a length that suits your needs. Make sure the end of the wick is clean and trimmed neatly.
- Hold the Needle: Take the needle between your thumb and index finger of your dominant hand. Make sure the eye of the needle is clearly visible.
- Fold the End of the Wick: Fold the end of the candle wick over by about 1/4 inch (0.6 cm). This will create a thicker portion that is easier to grip and maneuver through the eye of the needle.
- Insert the Wick: Hold the folded end of the candle wick between your thumb and index finger of your non-dominant hand. With your dominant hand, push the folded end of the wick through the eye of the needle. You may need to gently twist and wiggle the wick to coax it through the eye.
- Pull Through: Once the folded end of the wick is through the eye of the needle, grasp it firmly and pull the rest of the wick through until you have the desired length threaded through the needle.
- Trim Excess: If there’s excess wick hanging from the eye of the needle, you can trim it off with scissors or a sharp knife, leaving just enough to work with.
- Secure the Thread: Once the wick is threaded through the needle, tie a knot at the end of the wick to prevent it from slipping back through the eye.
